Small fish in dog food: why Forza10 builds on them
Food composition · · Forza10
When you read the composition of a Forza10 diet, you’ll usually come across fish early on. That’s no accident. The recipes are built on a few carefully selected ingredients, and their protein comes mainly from small fish. The fewer ingredients in the bowl, the smaller the chance that one of them won’t agree with your dog.
Why small fish
Small fish live shorter lives, so they carry a lower risk of accumulating heavy metals and other contaminants. The manufacturer’s research has also looked at antibiotic residues. That is another reason it chooses small fish and meat from extensively farmed animals.
How much fish is in the composition
Here’s what the composition of each diet says, from the largest share down:
| Diet | Fish in the composition |
|---|---|
| PUPPY CONDRO active | dehydrated fish 24.5% |
| DIABETIC active | dried fish 21% |
| INTESTINAL active | dehydrated fish 21% |
| ORAL active | fish meal 21% |
| Depura | dehydrated fish 19% |
| ECHO active | dehydrated fish 19% |
| PERIACTION active | dehydrated fish 19% |
| DERMO active | dehydrated fish 17% |
| DEFENSE active | dried fish 11% |
| Weight Control Active | fish protein hydrolysates 7% |
| URINARY active | dehydrated anchovies 6% |
Two diets are built differently. RENAL active has potato protein 10.4% and GASTROENTERIC active hydrolysed animal protein 16%.
How to choose a diet
What decides the choice of a diet isn’t the share of fish but its particular nutritional purpose, which each one has on its label. You’ll find them all in the overview of diets, and you choose together with your vet.
It is recommended that a veterinarian’s opinion be sought before use or before extending the period of use.
